Depend on alot of things, eg, length of marriage, kids, house, etc....

both agree or not. Can backdate

if simple case, $2000 legal fee, 1 court hearing and settle within 6 months.
Decree Nisi & Decree Absolute.

Complicated case with contest.
It will take a longer time. I am not sure.

If it is uncontested, can be as fast as lest then 5 months after filing. 2 weeks for engaging lawyer and preparation of documents and getting the commissioner of oaths to sign the documents and file with the court. 1 month later interim judgment. 3 months later final judgement and divorce is finalised.

If no kid..... just file for non-consumation.
Say both staying separate whilst waiting for HDB.
This is fastest way...... but make sure your lawyer on the ball and file the necessary papers on schedule. Most case delays caused by lawyers forget or delay to file the court documents.
If all go smoothly.... can settle in 3 mths and become bachelor status again... not divorcee.

Many years ago, I had a lady friend who wanted to try this method. Her lawyer told her she is pretty and sexy. If she use this method, the judge will find it hard to believe he did not have sex with her. :eek::D

So this method may not work. The lawyer can try but the judge may not believe. End up my friend had to apply for separation. During the period of separation, they patched back together and now she is a mother of 3 kids.

Anyway, the lawyer is right. My friend is very horny type. Always tell us what her ex-bf does in bed. How many times and last how long. When we asked her why she wants to annul her marriage, her reply was no orgasm as the husband shoots too quickly. She cannot accept no orgasm for the rest of her life. Really quite stunned by her answer. :p

Dun assume anything but assume your spouse wanted everything due to lawyer advice.

So in divorce best get top lawyer.

Immediate (excluding legal proceeds)
1. Adultery
2. Unreasonable Behaviour - abusive, hardcore gambling, drunkard, etc.
3. MIA

3Years (Mutual Agree)

4Years (one party agree)
