Pattaya is every man,s paradise, been there 5 times during my times with the navy i still relinquish the thoughts of walking dwn the sois everyday everynite after 7pm the nightlife comes to life.Still remember taking the bus from sattahip naval base journey abt 45mins will drop us infront of cherry hotel where they will hang up the WELCOME SPORE NAVY banner the reception still got a few ships plaque.

The most memorable is the body massage parlour Sabai land,Sabai room and Sabai dee my favorite those neon lights really attract us mens like bees to the honey.food is really cheap and u can easily spend like a king hope to see more bros continue their stories here...too bad out of the navy no more such trips anymore:(

When was that guys? I was there on my virgin trip in the early 90's and it was a cheong town but not as happening for tourist. It was usually either a R&R for navy (English/Americian and any passing vessels incl Singaporeans) or a weekend getaway for Bangkok locals. Many thais actually have their 2nd wives there!

It is interesting to see the developement from a semi-sleepy town to a major tourist city now. Also some of the 'fuck' industry has also developed from gals trying to make a living and struggling to get on to now hardcore gals who make even some of our salaries look like a joke to them! Some better off and smarter gals make more than 50,000 baht a month!

I 1st landed in Pattaya in mid 80s......funny thing I was intro to Thai culture via PTTY instead of BKK or HDY.....back then no tourists as it was too sleazy.....you get those foreign navy......yellow skin like us out of demand when the ships come into town......lucky me i cheong with the US stationed there. it was a party town only coming alive in the late evenings.....Jomtiem was a ghost town unlike now.....brings back memories

I visit pattaya around 6 times a year. :) Hollywood closed already more then a year , Amari just renovated with a new nice building, and charges around B2850 to B3500 depends on when. Just like Dusit, quite far from action while I normally stay in Marriott, in the center of activities but charges B4500/night. Compare to Sing it is still acceptable.

Will be there again 2nd week of next year, would like to meet other buddy who is around .:p..

Wa lau .......... you stay so high class hotel ; must be on company expense! :D Can you bring a girl back for these hotels? We are cheapskate and usually stay in cheaper hotels under 1kB.

Our next trip is Songkran so if anyone want some company or a orientation course , let me know.

Mai Bei Lia cup!!! You can bring many ladies you want back to Marriott without ay issue, as far as the room is paid by yourelf. Not by group tour. If they find your room is under group tour then they will charge B1000. Anyway, walk to the lift, keep smiling, say hello to the security ... they will not stop you...;)

Excellent thread.

I'm heading to LOS in Jan-Feb. Originally intended to stay in Bangkok only but now thinking to do the Pattaya scene instead.

Would 4 days be sufficient? Can play from 7pm -5am?

4 days for me too short! :p

If you start at Soi 6 and finish off at Xcyte or the Marine discos ; then with a gal back to your room , you can go from noon to noon! Only problem is to find time to rest! Even viagra cant help with lack of sleep!

Like I always said ; Pattaya is a chill place , its a whole package with drinking , eating and whoring. The choices are so many , most 1st timers will just be overwhelmed. Unlike Bangkok where you'll go to places for specific types (light , dark skinned , chinese , english speaking , dancing , massage , hostress type etc) you like.

So go AA? or go TP? or can apply for that in Bkk?

In Singapore go to AA bro....TP is only for foreign driving license holder to convert to Singaporean driving license.......

You cannot do a IDP in BKK as IDPs are not valid in the country of issue......alternatively you can convert to a Thai licence but it is a hassle as you must go to their Thai Land Transport department offices with cert for medical test, interpreter etc etc......& take the written test.

A little known fact is that western tourists like those from US, Aussie or Europe dun need a IDP to rent cars & even the traffic police accept that is perfectly legal......hope all these info helps :)
